Immersion Assembly for Term 3 - There's Something in the Water!
Team 2 teachers had a great time in the holidays exploring the path down the road between our beautiful local beach and the Tahuna Torea Reserve further up the coast. Our teacher Mrs Attenborough (aka. Mrs Carter) took her students; the animal lover (Ms Gaston), the lazy one (Miss Moran) and the lifelong learner (Ms Teleso), to see what we could see.
We hope you enjoy our movie!

PENN for Term 2 - Our Gruffalo Stories!
We have been having fun using our imaginations! After reading 'The Gruffalo' in class, we talked about the characters and made up some new stories of our own.
Here are some stories we made, by animating on Explain Everything.

Immersion Assembly Term 2!
This term for our Inquiry, we are learning about directions so that we can find our way from a start to an end point. This topic is called 'I Like Your Latitude'. We will be learning about positional language, completing mazes and treasure hunts, and creating our own maps to show a journey.
On Monday, we had Immersion Assembly in the hall. Team 2's movie was about how we need to look left, look right, look up and down, to find treasure (or in this case Easter Eggs)!

Cats Play!
The Cats reading group, made up of children from Rooms 25, 26 and 27, performed their play 'The Best Animal in the Forest' on Monday at our team assembly.
I am very proud of how well they did in front of an audience of their peers. The animals moves and noises were very enjoyable, which I'm sure you will hear from the laughter evident in our clip.
Please watch our performance and leave your comment on our blog.
(Apologies for the sound quality, my usual voice recorder (my phone) was busy being employed as a microphone for our narrator.)

Our PENN for Term 1!
Room 27 had heaps of fun colouring in a collaborative Kiwi artwork. We also talked about our own cultures, where we have come from and what we like about living in New Zealand and being kiwis.
We hope you enjoy our movie. Please leave a comment.

Clubs!
We started our very first Clubs session on Friday. Clubs is when we split up into groups, different from our normal classes and go to one of the four teachers in our space. Mrs Carter takes the Gardening Club, Ms Tumahai take a Bike Riding Club, Miss Moran takes the Blogging Club and I take the Cooking Club.
We made banana muffins! Every child had a job to do, be it sifting the flour, measuring out the baking powder or mashing the banana.
While they were cooking, we could smell very appetising scents wafting over from the kitchen. Once the hot muffins had cooled down from the oven, we tasted them. It was unanimous! They were yummy!
Here is a photo of us about to tuck in!
