PENN - School News Item "The Sun is so Hot."

It is our turn to share our learning on the school news channel, PENN, this week. Room 25 has been learning about what's out in outer space! We have been looking closely at how the Sun and the Moon affect Earth. We love singing and enjoy learning all sorts of things through song. We would like to share bits of our favourite space songs and what we know about space with you.

Hyperstudio Fun!

We have been thinking of ideas for our entry in the Manaiakalani Film Festival. Part of our brainstorming has involved us drawing our ideas on the i-pads and on Hyperstudio on our classroom computers.

We thought we would share with you Leonidas's Halloween ideas as seen in his Hyperstudio picture below. We love how many details he has included to make his scene really spooky!

Guardians of the Galaxy

This term we are learning about SPACE! We will be learning about how the sun and the moon affect Earth. We have started our learning this week by focusing on time. This is some of what we have learnt so far:

"When the big hand is on the 12 and the little hand is on the 12, it's 12 o'clock." - Manaia
"We have been learning 12 months make a year." - Marius
"I have learned that 24 hours are in a day." - Tumanako
"Clocks have a long hand and a short hand." - Tevita
