Hyperstudio Fun!

We have been thinking of ideas for our entry in the Manaiakalani Film Festival. Part of our brainstorming has involved us drawing our ideas on the i-pads and on Hyperstudio on our classroom computers.

We thought we would share with you Leonidas's Halloween ideas as seen in his Hyperstudio picture below. We love how many details he has included to make his scene really spooky!

Guardians of the Galaxy

This term we are learning about SPACE! We will be learning about how the sun and the moon affect Earth. We have started our learning this week by focusing on time. This is some of what we have learnt so far:

"When the big hand is on the 12 and the little hand is on the 12, it's 12 o'clock." - Manaia
"We have been learning 12 months make a year." - Marius
"I have learned that 24 hours are in a day." - Tumanako
"Clocks have a long hand and a short hand." - Tevita

Making kites at Makerspace

This term we have been making kites at Makerspace. Mr Vogt said that Room 25 is one of the best classes in Pt England School at plaiting! Thank you for helping us Mr Vogt. We have had heaps of fun!

Rm 25 Ripstar Rippa Rugby Stars

We would like to share with you 2 of our AMAZING Rippa Rugby players!

Here are Legacy and Naomi with their awards:

Legacy won the Coach's Award for amazing ripping skills and scoring 2 tries.

Naomi was Player of the Day for 2 amazing tries, always running in support, a great attitude, and always trying to be on side.

Well done girls! We are very proud of you!!

Our Museum Trip!

 
We had an incredible time visiting the Auckland Museum yesterday! Thank you so much to the parents who came along and helped us make the trip so memorable. Here are some photos to show you some of what we got up to.

Fractions are everywhere!

We had an amazing morning of Maths today! We have been learning about fractions and today we got to cut all sorts of things up and make our own. We had competitions to make the most equal halves, thirds, quarters, fifths and even eighths out of paper, playdough and slices of bread. It was so much fun!











We really had to think at the end of the lesson about how to share our 5 bags of lollies evenly around the classroom. Some people were really clever and chose the bags that gave them 7 lollies! Some people were a bit sad, because they had to share with so many people that they only got 2.
