Healthy Me, Healthy You!

We are really excited, (and inspired by the NZ Olympic Team,) to get fit and healthy this term in Team 2! In the holidays, the teachers got started, and it was harder for some of us than it was for others... Check out our Immersion Assembly movie below:

Immersion Assembly: Watch This Space!

This term, Team 2 will be learning about the Sun and the Moon, and how they affect the planet Earth. The teachers are looking forward to this unit of Inquiry so much, we thought we'd sing and dance about it! #Song: 'Time to Shine' by the Storybots.

Introducing Room 27, for 2021!

 What a crazy year it has been already! Two Level 3s, and a brief Level 2, and it's only Week 5. Despite this, we have had a really fun and happy start to our year, learning in Team 2.

We've had our annual school picnic, cooked pizza and pikelets in cooking club and had a visit from our Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern! We even started swimming lessons at the Glen Innes pools. Hopefully, these will start back up again once we're back in Level 1.

Room 27 Film Festival Movie 2020 - I Need a Hero!

Some wonderful story writers from Team 2, spent a day turning their superhero stories into little movies on Explain Everything on their iPads. They thought about what super power they would choose if they could become a superhero.

Welcome to Room 27's Blog for 2020!

We have had a great start to the year in Room 27. We are a class of Year 2s and Year 3s, so lucky Ms Gaston already knew most of us before we started.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from Room 27!

We had so much fun finishing off this year. We had our Junior School Carnival, School Picnic at Pt England Beach, and an amazing prize giving performance by all the children in our team. Congratulations to John, Angel and Paege who picked up their prizes for Citizenship, Effort and Digital Creativity.

The Sons of Ma'afu

Room 27 worked very hard to film our movie last term.

John and Masen play two cheeky Tongan sons who are always getting in trouble for throwing their spears in the wrong places. One day, when they throw their spears too close to their father the Chief Ma'afu, they get in trouble!

Immersion Assembly for Term 3 - There's Something in the Water!

Team 2 teachers had a great time in the holidays exploring the path down the road between our beautiful local beach and the Tahuna Torea Reserve further up the coast. Our teacher Mrs Attenborough (aka. Mrs Carter) took her students; the animal lover (Ms Gaston), the lazy one (Miss Moran) and the lifelong learner (Ms Teleso), to see what we could see. PENN for Term 2 - Our Gruffalo Stories!

We have been having fun using our imaginations! After reading 'The Gruffalo' in class, we talked about the characters and made up some new stories of our own.

Immersion Assembly Term 2!

This term for our Inquiry, we are learning about directions so that we can find our way from a start to an end point. This topic is called 'I Like Your Latitude'. We will be learning about positional language, completing mazes and treasure hunts, and creating our own maps to show a journey.

On Monday, we had Immersion Assembly in the hall. Team 2's movie was about how we need to look left, look right, look up and down, to find treasure (or in this case Easter Eggs)!
